To The Bone Podcast

To The Bone is a podcast about living honestly with chronic illness and chronic pain, created and hosted by me, someone who knows this terrain both professionally and personally. I have worked with chronically ill individuals for the past two and half decades and I have lived with a primary immune disorder, common variable immune deficiency, for the past decade. Each episode explores the emotional, existential, and relational realities of long term illness, moving beyond surface level positivity to examine grief, resentment, hope, identity, and meaning. I wish I was able to sell you the cure, for I would be the one to test it out first, but instead, it’s a path of less suffering and more meaning. Drawing from existential thinkers like Irvin Yalom and Rollo May, as well as contemporary writers and lived experience, the show invites listeners to confront suffering directly while also discovering agency, depth, and purpose within it. We have always been a story, the story of us and now the story has unexpectedly changed. This is not a podcast about fixing your life. It is about facing it fully, speaking the unspeakable parts out loud, and building a life that feels real, even when the body does not cooperate. There is no mastermind course, no upsell, no false promises of a perfect life ahead, but there is a journey we can take together. A journey to find the freedom still existing in each and everyone of us to find what truly matters to us.
